ABOUT
hISTORY
In 2003, an enthusiastic group of students from the TU Delft started their dream project: an offshore student sailing-race team. Ever since, It has been a fast learning program where the members are responsible for all the aspects of the campaign. This includes boat work, logistics, finance and more.

Delft Challenge started out in the Farr 30, a small keelboat, and it took part in the Tour Voile for most of its existence. In 2018 the switch was made to a Diam 24, a high performance trimaran for three sailors. After two successful campaigns competing in this Tour Voile format, Delft Challenge set new goals and eventually switched over to the one-design class J/70.
oUR AMBITION
To sail in an internationally competitive fleet, we set up a campaign racing the J/70 class. In one-design racing, boats and equipment are the same for all sailors, which results in extremely close racing. The J70 is the fastest growing one-design class in the world where both professionals and amateur sailors compete against each other. In this circuit we represent the Royal Netherlands Yacht Club.
